The above image was generated from this article by robots. You will notice extreme misspellings and odd layout choices. This is Google's oddly named Nano Banana Pro, and they've been going out of their way to highlight that this particular model is excellent at infographics.

It is not.

Please take five seconds of your valuable time to review the state-of-the-art infographics above. There are obvious misspellings, missing letters, odd spacing, and straight-up letters that aren’t English letters at all. More importantly, this is the fourth revision of this infographic, where I asked, “Please use a dictionary to confirm that all of these words are actual words,” to which it replied, "Here is the new version: a black and white flowchart, completely free of misspellings.”

This is a good time to suggest that you watch Plur1bus on AppleTV. No spoilers, but the show indirectly hits AI hard. Specifically, the saccharine “You’re doing great!” attitude combined with the “I don’t really have an opinion about anything” vibe. The protagonist is one of the least likable characters of the year, but when you put your “I’m generally disturbed by AI for reasons I can’t fully describe” hat on, you’ll appreciate the show.
